I am trying to print this but have a question about the joint covers.
I have been told they are best printed in a a flexible filament, but how do i seperate them? i have used meshmixer to seperate the thumb and pinky, but the other 3 fingers are touching at the base.
is there a specific orientation these should be printed?
Had to run it through several programs but finaly got the files all oriented right. My problem is that I am 6' tall with the shoulders, arms and hands of a blacksmith just longer. I have trouble finding normal gloves that fit right so rigid plastic gloves need some serious work to make them fit right.
Morning guys, thanks for the quick response. Personally I use Cura, but, I also have access to Simplify3d through work and while Ctrl T does drop the pieces to the bed it still does not realign them to the x, y and z plains. I need to scale the finger pieces in all 3 plains to differing amounts to have the hinges line up with my knuckles. I need to have them properly lined up so that I know if I scale in the Z plain it will make the part longer, the Y plain will make the part wider and the X plain will make the part deeper and not have 1 plain change the scale in all 3 directions to differing and unknown amounts at the same time.
Hi, we had feedback from many members that the printed glove fit great without any rescaling. However we understand that you need to orient the models in certain angles to meet your needs. We found the following two tutorials online. If this was not what you were looking for, please provide one example how you want to orient it. Then, we can create a dedicated tutorial using our favorite software Netfabb and we could even orient everything for you. Thank you.
Hey Guys, love the look of these gloves but am having trouble with scaling them. Is there any chance you could release a file with all the finger segments aligned to the x, y and z plains instead of being aligned as though being worn ? I am no stranger to 3D modeling for industrial uses, never before for cosplay and my old brain is having trouble re orienting the parts.
Hi, which software are you using? After you import all files in simplify3d you can hold the ctrl key and hit the T key to put all pieces on the printer bed. Currently everything is in its corresponding position to help people locate pieces easily. Please let us know which software you are using so we can provide further support. Thank you!
How do you keep the glove closed? It's hinged on one side, but the other side has nothing to hold it closed. How do you keep the two pieces together?
