Hello everyone I'm a hobbyist who has been a fan of 3d printers and 3d modeling since I was introduced to it back when I was an engineering student in high school. Although I never fully understood them I decided to purchase a CR-10 mini so I could teach myself and learn from the 3d printing community. Purchasing a 3d printer was one of the best decisions I've made and have tons of fun watching a 3d model being printed into a physical object! Without any type of mods or changes to my CR-10 mini except for using mirror glass for the print bed I must say my CR-10 mini is very reliable and hasn't failed on me since I've started using it! As for the filament I use 3D Solutech silver metal PLA which gives me the best quality in my prints. I personally enjoy using this filament since it gives all my prints a sort of metallic industrial look if that makes sense lol and for a finish I use XTC 3D which gives my prints a nice smooth protective
finish! I would say some of the pros about the CR-10 mini is that for a "mini" 3d printer this is one of the largest out there and gives you the opportunity to print larger objects than other 3d printers. It is pretty inexpensive ( I got mine for about $250) compared to other 3d printers out there. For its 300x220x300 print size I'd say that's a whole lot of printer for a lot less money! And when it arrives its very easy to assemble as most of the work is already done for you. One thing I like is that its simple design makes it very easy to troubleshoot in the case that you are getting low quality prints. Only issue I can find with it is the spot where the filament spool is placed. Without any type of mod the spool has to be placed on top of the control box right next to the printer. It kind of makes it susceptible to filament getting tangled. Overall I'd recommend this printer for anyone who's new to the 3d printing community and trying to save the most money they can! Laslty, I want to give a big thanks to Frankly Built who has convinced me to start bigger projects as that has been something I've never been sure of doing. He has shown that a person can do many things and all it takes is some curiosity and some elbow grease. He has been my motivation to take on bigger things as I've only taken on small scale prints and made me realize that there are no limitations on what we can achieve!
